What are Titanium Ball Valves?
Depending on the requirement of the application, any one of the various Titanium Ball Valves grades can be put to use. For instance, grade 1 to grade 4 Titanium Instrumentation Ball Valve are referred to as commercially pure titanium. On the other hand, any Floating type Flange end Titanium ball valve belonging to grade 5 and beyond are considered to be alloyed forms of Titanium Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves. Along with having high tensile strength, the ASTM B367 grade C2 Titanium Alloy Valve has good stiffness and toughness properties. Moreover, the density of Titanium Ball Valves is lower than most metals. In fact, a Titanium ASTM B367 gr C5 Ball Valve will have a high tensile strength to density ratio.
In addition to these properties, the Instrumentation Titanium Valves can be used for low pressure applications while having good fatigue resistance and high crack resistance. What makes the Titanium Alloy One Piece Flanged Ball Valves a valuable asset is that the alloy has the ability to withstand moderately high temperatures without becoming prone to creep. Which is why the Titanium Instrument Valves are used in heavy duty applications involving the aircraft, naval ships and spacecraft industry. Its resistance to seawater makes the Hydraulic Titanium Ball Valve a good fit for marine engineering purposes.
